Hidden Level is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant/Controller to maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements, payroll, budgets, and tax compliance issues for a Central New York startup. Reporting to the CFO, this unique position for a growing venture is suited for a confident self starter that will be hands on and in charge of many aspects of accounting from payroll and payables to revenue, contracts and independently executing projects critical to the success of the company. Initially a mostly transactional position, the right applicant will be tasked with building an efficient team over time that will handle the day to day as needed while the company grows.

As a Senior Staff Accountant/Controller, you can expect to…

Support accounting functions including:
  • Daily transactions
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private investments, loans, and government contracts
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, revenue and costs through policies, procedures, and workflow
Play a vital role in evolving company financial policies and procedures:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
  • In conjunction with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Help guide financial decisions by creating and applying company policies and procedures
Help in continuing to build a great organization:
  • Contribute to sustaining an environment of trust and productivity
    Help develop, implement and support short and long-term operational strategies and software
  • Actively participate and present in Business Development and Strategy team meetings

A successful candidate will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail for all work products
  • Ability to handle a dynamic work environment with a great multi-disciplinary team
  • 5+ years experience with evidence of financial leadership
  • A team focused mentality with interest in positive results
  • Desire to live in Central New York area
