FAQ

What federal programs will support Hidden Level deployment?

In an average fiscal year, there are about 1,000 federal grant programs that total about $400 billion in funding for public agencies. This year, there is additional funding of around $6B to allow communities and public agencies to recover, but also for innovative projects. There are multiple federal funding sources through Department of Homeland Security, FEMA programs, Department of Justice funds, Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Treasury Act (American Rescue Plan). We can help you get creative on how to leverage this funding for your Hidden Level project.

Who is eligible for federal funding?

Public agencies (city, county, state, law enforcement agency, port, tribal government, etc.)

Is it difficult to apply?

The good news is you do not need to be a federal funding expert! We have legal resources who work every day with people without grant writing experience, helping to maximize your benefit through fund selection, developing appropriate documentation & language and meeting deadlines.

How can agencies maximize their chances of landing this funding?
  • It’s not about what you’re buying, but why you’re buying it. Think about your use case. What problem are you solving? How are you improving the safety and security of your community? This use case leads to the federal funding streams that will be the best. Data that proves your use case is beneficial, though not required.
  • Local commitment to the effort. Are partner agencies in the community or state involved and supporting your project? If not, could there be?
  • Some federal grants require a research partner. We can help you identify this partner (i.e. local university).
  • Local letters of support

Our legal team can provide talking points, language and other tools (i.e. letters of support, emails, etc.) to support your case. You will just need to use the tools!
