Hidden Level Continues Expansion with Ribbon Cutting at New Offices

SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse-based Hidden Level, developers of a revolutionary low-altitude airspace monitoring service, held a ribbon cutting and reception yesterday at its new offices at 1014 North Geddes Street in Syracuse’s Inner Harbor. The ribbon cutting was to celebrate the opening of a new two-story, 10,000 square foot facility that includes office space, as well as laboratory and manufacturing facilities for developing its proprietary sensor systems. Other reasons to celebrate include closing on a $17.6 Million in Series A investment, recent test flight activities with NASA Ames Laboratory, and plans to double the size of the company in the coming year.

The Series A investment round was led by Lobby Capital. The funding round also included additional strategic investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures and Alsop Louie Partners. Hidden Level has now raised over $21 million in venture capital in the past three years. The new investment will enable Hidden Level to advance development and deployment of its sensor technology and services.

Mountain View, CA-based NASA Ames Research Center has been working with Hidden Level on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Traffic Management and Advanced Aerial Mobility applications of the Airspace Monitoring Service (AMS) data feed. In May, Hidden Level conducted tests of its AMS for NASA Ames using Onondaga Lake and surrounding areas as a surrogate for Mountain View. Testing consisted of numerous UAS flights over Onondaga Lake while Hidden Level’s network of sensors monitored and reported the location of each UAS.

The ribbon cutting was attended by local dignitaries including Mayor of Syracuse Ben Walsh and representatives from Senator Chuck Schumer’s office. Hidden Level has plans to hire approximately 15 people in the next year, effectively doubling the company’s size.

“This new facility will allow us to continue to innovate and develop new cutting-edge sensor technology and services that will help our customers improve airspace safety,” said Jeff Cole, Chief Executive Officer at Hidden Level. “Central New York is our home, and we are proud to be bringing jobs and innovation to this community.’

“Hidden Level’s work on the safe monitoring and management of commercial drone activity is vitally important to our region and the nation. We are proud to welcome Hidden Level to Syracuse’s Inner Harbor,” said Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh. “Hidden Level’s decision to invest and grow in Syracuse reflects the City’s reputation nationally as a top smart city and one of the world’s leading places for unmanned aircraft systems. It is another example of how Syracuse is growing as a hub for innovation and job creation,
